- 12TH EAST ASIA SYMPOSIUM---From Molecules to Cells, Nov.20-23, Shao Xing-First Announcement
1. Temporary Schedule: The 12th east-Asia Symposium will be held in Nov. 20-23.

2. Theme: The theme of 12th Symposium is ¡°From Molecules to Cells¡±, including wide subjects and topics of biomacromolecules and Cell research fields, particular of the links between them.
3. Abstract and CV: The deadline for submission of abstracts and short CV of researchers/ professors and abstracts for students is Oct.5, 2005. Every speaker please submits a recent photo.
4. Participants: The organizing committee invites 5 researchers / Professors and 5 students from 6 member- institutes to join this symposium. Researchers / professors will give oral presentation, while the students will give 5 min oral and poster presentations. The KAIST, Korea will has 2 researchers/professor and 2 students to participate the symposium.
In order to issue the invitation letter, please send the participant¡¯s name list of your Institute before September 20, 2005.
5. Meeting location: Shao Xing City
Shaoxing City, China, located in the northern part of Zhejiang Province, is a famous historical and cultural city listed by the state. Shaoxing City China covers an area of 7,900 sq km, and the total population of the county is 4.2 million. Shaoxing City enjoys a long history as early as 6,000 years ago and was the capital of ancient Yue Kingdom 2400 years ago.
Shaoxing's main industries are Textile, food, machinery, metallurgy, and electronics. Shaoxing Rice Wine is one of Chinese most famous wines and has enjoyed a history dating back to Yue Kingdom. Shaoxing city is Zhejiang's major silk producer. Yueci ceramics, Shaoxing laces, paper fan, and Shaoxing Felt Hat are also Shaoxing's specialties. Tea processing machinery is the city's competitive products and popular at home and abroad.
Belonging to the subtropical zone with monsoon climate, the annual average temperature of the city is 16C and the annual average precipitation ranges from 1,200?,600 mm. Shaoxing City is a typical waterways region and the numerous rivers, canals and bridges are part of the city charm.
Shaoxing boasts itself in many historical sites and scenic spots. Dayu Mausoleum and Ancestral Shrine is said to be the resting place of the greatest ancient king Dayu; The lofty Mausoleum of King Yue at the foot of Mt. Guiji; the Orchid Pavilion is regarded as the holy ground of Chinese calligraphy, Lu Xun's Former Residence, ancestors' Presidency of Zhou Enlai, all restored in original state. The history of Sheng Family Garden recorded a story about a tragic marriage of the patriotic poet Lu You of the Southern Song Dynasty and his lover Tang Wang. Donghu Lake is one of Zhejiang's four most famous lakes.
Shaoxing is fast to Hangzhou, Shanghai, and Ningbo through Shanghai-Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway or Shanghai-Hangzhou-Ningbo Railway. Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal also runs across the city..
6. Transportation: You may arrive at Xiao Shan International Airport. It takes around 40 min from Airport to Shao Xing. We will meet and pick up you at Airport.
7. Expenses: All local expenses, including board, lodging, the visiting, and sightseeing, during the meeting period will be taken care by the organizing committee.
8. Whether: November in Shao Xing is not cold, but it is also depends. We will inform the whether in advance around mid-November.
